| Descricão e Informacões Adicionais | The main objective of this paper is to discuss central role played by private citizens and communities, the importance of multi-agency and multisectoral partnerships the true civic engagement, institutional arrangements that theoretically promote a vibrant democracy on opening discussions concerning the trafficking of women for sexual purposes, trafficking of children and youths, organized crime in vulnerable areas, and on finding solutions for daily problems in Brazil. Crime prevention is a pre-emptive intervention to block or reduce the likelihood of the occurrence of a criminal act at a given location or the onset of criminal behaviour within an individual, specifically relating to human trafficking in Brazil as the main objective of the paper. The causes of crime and criminality in the country are highlighted to emphasize the economic impact on corporative structures, the criminal justice system, as well as the partnerships among developing countries and the community affected by crime. On examining the theory and practice of organized crime, it highlights substantive approaches as situational, social development, community crime prevention, as well as process-oriented issues essential to its application: planning, implementing and evaluating of human trafficking and integrated proactive, preventive measures. |
