Descricão e Informacões Adicionais(en)	This study is an attempt to describe how to understand and analyse the strategic decision-making on outsourcing in the context of the Brazilian public sector. For this, we conducted a case study in a body of the federal judiciary and listed the factors that influence this decision throughout five research stages. Empirical research has confirmed some factors that influence the decision to outsource IT, among them strategic, environment, legal and IT vendor-related aspects. Other new factors have emerged, such as the availability factor of the solution, strategic planning and the safety factor. Finally, as a suggestion for future studies, this article proposes a multi-criteria method of decision-making analysis for IT outsourcing.
