Descrição e Informações Adicionais | We present an analytical and numerical study of a generalized version of the classical sine-Gordon equation, capable of inducing long-range interactions between solitons which can be made as Coulomb-like as desired only by increasing a single parameter n (n=1 recovers the classical sine-Gordon). The long-range property of this model is shown to depend on the ``tail-length`` of the kink formed; also this characteristic gives rise to time dependent power-law behavior quantified by t^rac 11-n, which is directly associated with the long tail phenomenon. For all ngeq 1, the interaction length is related to the internal modes of the kink solution. We show that self-affinity extends to all scales for a growth model associated with the proposed equation (a modified long-range sine-Gordon equation with damping and random forcing). Finally, we introduce a generalized version of the Ginzburg-Landau equation which supports long-range topological defects in D=1 and D>1 and present its non-extensivity regimes. |
