A Corte Interamericana de Direitos Humanos mostrou-se não apenas sensitiva aos padrões prevalecentes de justiça, mas à moralidade, em relação a cada um dos casos de prisão, confinamento e tortura cometidos contra cidadãos estrangeiros. |
| Descricão e Informacões Adicionais(en) | The aim of this paper is to present a series of case studies that were submitted to the Inter-American Court of Human Rights for violation of human rights perpetrated by governments in Peru, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, among others, in a clear denial of the right of liberty, property and identification. The alleged violations are clearly specified in the American Convention of Human rights. It also analyzes the case of Lori Berenson Mejía vs. Peru, in 1995, which shows an arbitrary arrest, torture, terrorism, crime and life imprisonment. The Inter-American Court of Human Rights has been sensitive to the prevailing standards of justice, but also to morality in relation to each of the cases of arrest, confinement and torture committed against foreign citizens. |
