| Descrição e Informações Adicionais(en) | The article is a literature review on the main bibliographic conceptual models that have arisen since the late 1990s, giving special emphasis to the models that followed the Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records which culminated in the publication of the Library Reference Model in 2017. It is also presented the International Council of Museums? Conceptual Reference Model and its extension for integrating with the bibliographic domain. This work aims to provide a unified vision of the main characteristics of those conceptual models, obtained by the analysis of their official specifications and complementary texts selected through an exploratory bibliographic research. It is concluded that conceptual models are an important tool to deal with problems of information organization in the context of the Semantic Web, because, (i) by introducing the entities Work, Expression, Manifestation and Item to the treatment of bibliographic information, they provide a physical view of the informational object (publication and copies of bibliographic resources) and an abstract one (intellectual creation and its expressions), (ii) they recognize the importance of relationships, allowing the model to be used in non-bibliographic contexts, and (iii) they are more generic and allow integration with other models of a wider range of applications. |
