Descrição e Informações AdicionaisCompetitive Intelligence (CI) is a systemic process that aims to determine the strengths that rule business, reduce risk and help the decision-making processes, besides protecting the organizational sensitive knowledge. A growing number of companies have established CI functions within their firms. But Competitive Intelligence is frequently misunderstood and stereotyped as spying. In order to clarify this point, this article presents definitions and objectives of prospective scenarios and Competitive Intelligence, attempting to combine theses concepts with the making of strategies. The work describes the scenarios use in the making of strategies by three Brazilian organizations. The analysis of results shows that the top executives` support and their correct understanding of the methodology are more important than the choice of a method. It also shows that the use of CI tools is important to help the building of scenarios and definition of strategies, as well as the formulation of short-term decision-making process.
