| Descricão e Informacões Adicionais | Este artigo pretende examinar as transformações sofridas pelo western, gênero cinematográfico nascido e ligado, historicamente, à construção dos Estados Unidos da América. A produção dos filmes italianos no gênero, priorita- riamente durante a década de 1960, gerou mudanças que influenciam a produção do western na América até hoje. Para examinar o processo, o artigo parte da noção de construção da identidade de Manuel Castells determinada pelas relações de poder, entre as quais se distinguem três formas: a identidade legitimadora, a identidade de resistência e a identidade de projeto. Os resultados de tal reflexão nos conduzem à conclusão de que uma mudança na estrutura cultural global, posteriormente chamada de pós-modernidade, foi determinante para que o gênero efetivamente se renovasse e ganhasse novas características então legitimadas pela audiência. |
| Descricão e Informacões Adicionais(en) | his article aims to examine the transformations experienced by western, film genre born and linked historically to the construction of the United States of America. The production of Italian films in the genre, primarily during the 1960s, led to changes that influence the production of western America today. To examine the process, the article begins with the notion of identity construction of Manuel Castells determined by power relations, among which we distinguish three forms: the legitimizing identity, resistance identity and project identity. The results of such reflection lead us to the conclusion that a change in the global cultural structure, later called post modernity, was crucial for the genre effectively to renew and to gain new features legitimated by the audience. |
