Descrição e Informações Adicionais | The growth of e-waste consumption has several consequences in terms of bad management. One of them is its Illegal International Trade. This trade is a way that brokers, smugglers and organized crime groups use to meet the waste producers demand for a cheap dispose after the use of the product. Nonetheless, this is often done in illegal ways and extraction processes are grossly done in the importing countries. The consequences of this are environmental damages, bad conditions of work, yields for organized crime groups and loss of economic opportunity for exporting countries. The focus of this paper is the e-waste produced in Europe. In order to analyse and discuss a valuable solution for these trades problems, this article states three main reasons why they happen with wastes produced in Europe and concludes that the best manner to diminish these illegal trades is by the use of the take-back system. These reasons are the European integration, the corruption and the inefficiency in customs inspections. |
