Descrição e Informações Adicionais | Considering the real importance of gold and silver for society, either as noble metals used as a synonym of wealth and luxury or as important components for metal alloys present in the most diverse electrical and electronic equipment, the present work had as objective to test and to develop reliable methodologies that make possible the extraction of these metals from electrical and electronic waste, such as pins of CPU processors, with the use of nitric and hydrochloric acid in a leaching process called hydrometallurgy. These processes of attack was divided into several distinct phases with intervals between them, thus enabling the reactions necessary for the release of the gold and silver particles and then joining them with the use of sodium metabisulphite or sodium hypochlorite. |
