A atribuição de significados a seres inanimados, ritos de passagem, ocorrências e fenômenos naturais, seres fantásticos e míticos, ocorrem desde os primórdios da raça humana. O espaço geográfico obtém um papel de elemento mantenedor, fundamentador e de referencia sígnica em diversas manifestações simbólicas, fazendo-se uso do potencial imagético existente no meio natural e antrópico, a simbolização e agregação de significados se torna um fato recorrente nas mais variadas sociedades. |
